Hassan T. Rahman, MD FACS

Dr. Hassan Rahman was born in Quincy, Massachusetts and grew up in Augusta, Georgia. He received his Bachelors Degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa. He then enrolled at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas where he received his M.D. After completing his internship in Internal Medicine, Dr. Rahman continued his ophthalmology residency at Baylor College of Medicine’s Cullen Eye Institute.
Following residency, he pursued a prestigious two-year fellowship in Vitreoretinal Diseases and Surgery at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He also held a staff appointment with teaching responsibilities at the Emory Eye Center and Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia.
Dr. Rahman has authored several peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on retinal surgery and diseases. He has also presented his research at numerous state wide and national meetings. He has recently served as a reviewer for the American Journal of Ophthalmology. Texas Monthly has also honored Dr. Rahman in its annual list of Texas Super Doctors: Rising Stars and most recently as a Super Doctor.
Dr. Rahman is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is also a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, and American Society of Retina Specialists.
Dr. Rahman’s clinical practice focuses on the medical and surgical treatment of retinal diseases including macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachment, trauma, macular holes, epiretinal membranes, and retinal vascular diseases.
On a personal note, Dr. Rahman is happily married and enjoys traveling with his wife and young children. Dr. Rahman and his wife, a native Houstonian, also enjoy spending time with their immediate families that both reside in the greater Houston area.
