No. Retina & Vitreous of Texas does not provide prescriptions for glasses or contacts. We are completely focused on the back of the eye. That means we don’t provide Lasik eye correction, cataract, or glaucoma treatment, either. However, we are happy to refer patients to these types of specialists if needed. Yes. It is standard procedure for RVT to conduct our own eye exams for our patients, new and current. This includes eye dilation. We do this to keep record and monitor the eye and to track your condition. Dilation usually lasts about 4-6 hours. We recommend coming with a companion to drive you home, especially if this is your first visit. Dilation can impair everyone a bit differently.
Reach out to your preferred pharmacy and let them know that you need a refill. They will get in touch with us for approval and then they will let know you when your prescription is ready for pick-up.
