When you visit RVT your vision will be in the hands of some of the best vitreoretinal specialists in the country. Our physicians are nationally and internationally recognized experts in their field, are board certified in Ophthalmology and have undergone advanced vitreoretinal fellowship training in surgery, laser and diseases of the retina, vitreous, and macula. RVT's practice is one of the most sophisticated retinal groups in the country and is devoted to providing you with the best diagnostic tools, the most advanced lasers, and the most innovative surgical and medical treatment possible all in an atmosphere where the patient comes first. We strive to work with the patient as a team to help them understand their problem and manage their disease. Trips to the doctor are rarely convenient and certainly in an emergency a vision threatening situation can cause great stress. We know you have to make special arrangements to get to us, sometimes without warning. We will try to complete all examinations and testing possible during your visit. After checking in at our front desk and filling out the usual boring paperwork necessary in modern medicine (or you can fill it out before arrival!), you will first see an ophthalmic technician who will do an initial evaluation including vision and preliminary testing. You will then see a physician, either first by our fellow who is a fully trained opthalmologist doing two more years of training in retina followed by examination by one of our practice physicians. Evaluation and testing can take several hours especially if special testing or treatment is required. We suggest that you have a family member or friend bring you to your first appointment since you will be dilated. We do not recommend driving immediately after the exam. Also, you will be receiving a lot of information and having someone with you helps to clarify your condition and treatment. Ask any questions you might have. We are here to help you understand your problem and when you leave we want you to have the best information and recommendations possible for your condition. For a new patient visit, please download the following and complete before your arrival. We look forward to seeing you! New Patient Forms for download (PDF files): NEW PATIENT INFORMATION
